Rotorcraft Systems Laboratory
Programs of Study in
Missile and Rotorcraft Systems Engineering Leading to a Master of Science in Engineering The University of Alabama in Huntsville New part-time programs lead to a Master of Science Degree in Engineering and allow students several options for degree completion. The University of Alabama in Huntsville has announced two new programs of study in the areas of Missile Systems Engineering and Rotorcraft Systems Engineering. Both programs lead to a Master of Science Degree in Engineering. The programs were developed through the existing cooperative agreement between the US Army at Redstone Arsenal and UAH. The programs are an extension of the current Rotorcraft Systems Engineering curriculum recently established at the university. The new programs complement the established full time Rotorcraft Systems Engineering program.
Options
Both the Missile and Rotorcraft programs may be pursued on a part time basis. Students have several options for completing the requirements for the Master’s degree.
Coursework
Students would be required to take a set of core courses consisting of studies in mathematics, systems engineering and modeling and simulation. Students would then be assigned to a missile track or rotorcraft track. Rotorcraft courses include studies in propulsion, helicopter aerodynamics, and helicopter design. Missile courses would include high speed aerodynamics, missile propulsion, and missile design.
Contacts
Core courses will begin in the fall of 2004. Further information on the program can be obtained by calling Dr. James Snider, 824-6066, jsnider@eng.uah.edu or Ms Sue O’Brien, 824-6133, obriens@email.uah.edu. Printable PDF file of this page Homework Assignments |
